Will Besga (C94) Mallorcan Law Practice

Upon leaving Ampleforth, I had a vague idea that I wanted to be a lawyer. Looking back on it, I suppose that what attracted me to it was the personal responsibility enjoyed by a lawyer in his professional relations with clients. In turn, this idea of self reliance and of conducting work that involved a personal guarantee seemed to be something that I had seen at work at Ampleforth: a sense of individuality, yet at the same time of personal and social accountability, was very clearly fostered then, as I am sure it is fostered now. These are essential values to have, and I cannot think of better ones to conduct one’s life and work.

After a number of years devoted to several pursuits, which included horse riding and headhunting internationally, and engaged in various studies (Philosophy, the University of Queensland, Australia,  and International Politics, the University of Manchester), I finally came around to my original vocation. I read law and completed my Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, Chester. Following the birth of our twin daughters, Hermione and Henrietta, we decided to look elsewhere for a change in lifestyle. I am now associated with ETL, a full service law firm in Mallorca, and I have the good fortune of dealing with many English clients. The main areas of our practice are Real Estate law, Company law and Civil Litigation. If you ever come to this island, be sure to get in touch and I will show you around!
