Furniture maker Timothy Oulton (J85) has produced a stunning new collection named after Ampleforth!
The guiding philosophy behind Timothy Oulton is simple: to be best in class. “I think it is a love for design and a desire to see things done the
best way possible that keeps me motivated,” says founder, Timothy
Oulton. “In everything that we do, I want it to be unique, to be best in
class, or I won’t do it.”
The Ampleforth collection takes Timothy Oulton’s travel-inspired trunks to the next level, translating them into functional furniture while retaining the impeccable construction and exquisite detailing of the original trunks. The collection takes its name from Ampleforth College, Oulton’s alma mater in North Yorkshire, where the designer credits much of his inspiration and design influence. The trunk-inspired range of cupboards, lamp tables, sideboards, and chests is finished in a creative variety of vintage and innovative materials, from leather and cowhide to aluminium, steel and vintage mirror.
