BROTHER LOUIS HENRIOT (J08) made his Simple Profession as a monk of the Abbaye Notre-Dame de Fontgombault near Poitiers, of the Solesmes Conmgregation, on the Feast of the Transfiguration, 6 August 2011. He had made a Consecration to Our Lady on 25 March 2011. On this occasion, Br Louis and his family gave to Fr Abbot and the Community of Ampleforth a replica of their shrine of Notre-Dame du-Mourir [Our Lady of a Happy Death]. Br Louis went to the Abbey of Fontgombault in Spring 2009. Fontgombault, built on the right bank of the River Creuse, was founded in 1091, when the monks began building the vast and beautiful Abbey. In 1791, in the Revolution, the Abbey was partly destroyed and closed. It was refounded from Solesmes in 1948.
