Memories and
tributes are invited from former pupils and former colleagues of those
intellectual heavyweights who taught history in the last half of the last
century with a view to a feature in a forthcoming Ampleforth
publication.

He particularly remembers Stephan
Dammann and Fr Alberic Stacpoole as exceptionally good and inspiring teachers,
but doubtless others will have strong and equally favourable memories of
Tom Charles Edwards, Tony Davidson and other members of that excellent
department.
