Camino de Santiago Pilgrimage 2011
14 April 2011
OA Rory Smith (H09) and friends look towards this years Way of St James Pilgrimage.
Rory Smith has been in touch to inform us of his plans to cycle the Camino Frances route of the Camino de Santiago (the way of St James) Pilgrimage this coming July.
The pilgrimage is more than a thousand years old and our chosen route starts in St Jean Pied de Port and finishes in Santiago de Compostela about 780km (485 miles) later, after covering the breath of Northern Spain.
He will be setting off with contemporaries Jerome Hoyle (D09), Theo Tyrrell (D09), Paddy Connors (EW09) and Hamish Adams-Cairns (H09) to complete the Pilgrimage in the first three weeks of July, which equates to approximately cycling 30 miles each day.
You can read more about the Pilgrimage here: http://www.caminodesantiago.me.uk/camino-frances/
Thanks for getting in touch Rory and have an amazing time on the journey!
