Old Amplefordian Cross Country Club
The Old Boys Cross-Country Club competes in 2 races per year. The first is the Alumni Run, held in December at the Thames Hare and Hounds Running Club in Wimbledon. This is a popular annual Old Boys Alumni Cross Country Race which has been running since 1954. The course of 5 miles is on Wimbledon Common and is a shortened version of the Oxbridge Blues course. Ampleforth have taken part in this race since 2006 and have maintained a strong team performance, coming 2nd in 2009.
Our second race of the year is the traditional Old Boys Corbould Cup, held at Ampleforth at the beginning of January against the school’s 1st XIII. This is always an exciting and closely fought event hosted by the school and attended by nearly 30 old boys. The course is approximately 4.5 miles on the old match course.
